MauriceW Posts: 5 Joined: 4.It’s frustrating, I wanted to send you some settings pictures to understand better what we are talking about but taking snips in Cinnamon the file system is not the same as Windows and when I used my USB in Windows the pictures were not there.Īnyway I think I know now how to solve the problem thanks to your help but I need time and peace which I don’t have now (family members are over and stay overnight due to the coming snow storm). P.S.You can mark this topic Closed/Solved if you wish. Otherwise, the Virtual Vista as it is will serve my purpose, allbeit with some limitations.Īctually, I have litle or no interest in the Aero facility and for Vista on older PCs used to turn it off. Since all this experimenting is liable to create instability in the Virtual Vista, Unfortunately, I have been unable to download the Guest Additions iso for VB ver 4.0.8. I also used EasyBCD to set up an alternate boot configuration for Safe Mode, but that didn't work either. I could get safe mode via msconfig, but then the network was not enabled. However my Virtual Vista does not respond to F8 on the host keybord (HPdv7).

The host has nVidia GeForce GT230M, but when I tried to instal nVidia 275.33 (latest)Ĭan anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

In virtual Vista, I could not access the Devices tab with the Vista mouse,Īfter the GAs were installed, the mouse became integrated and operated correctly.Īlso the Device Manager had lost the referernce to Base System Device needing driver. (In previous VB versions I seem to recall that there was a reminder about Guest Additions.) I (wrongly) assumed they were included in the Extension Pack. I had not in fact installed the Guest Additions for ver 4.0.8īecause since they are not offered on the VB download site I am wondering whether some conflict has arisen because Vista is on top of XP. I would appreciate advice as to how to resolve this problem,īecause I am getting messages about need to activate Vista within 3 days!!! The hardware identity for the Ethernet Adaptor lacking a driver in Vista is:. Win7 Devices include "VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adaptor"Īs well as the "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" of the HP dv7.
WINDOWS XP VBOX VM NO ETHERNET CARD INSTALL
I have tried to install Ethernet drivers from many sources to no avail. Or Bridged devices (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) all to no avail. I have tried selecting either NAT (PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) Which activated on line OK and had all systems (CD/DVD unit, USB, LAN, printer Audio etc.) working.Īfter Runing the Vista installation from the DVD, Vista was created OK,Īnd I got all devices except Ethernet working.

My Vista Installation disk is a legal Academic UpgradeĪnd requires installation from within a prior authentic windows version. Having enjoyed a guest Win XP Pro for some time, My Host: VB 4.0.8 installed on Windows 7 SP1 in a HP dv7 PC. Vista (upgrade) guest no Ethernet Adaptor driver.
